About this scholarship
What the Ratcliffe Scholarship gives you
You will receive approximately 5,250 EUR (4,500 GBP) per year, which will be paid out in instalments. You do not have to repay it, and there are no restrictions on what you may spend it on. The duration is 12 months, and a scholarship is available. The funding comes from the University of Bath and is financed by donations from alumni and benefactors.
Who can apply
- Level: You are a bachelor’s degree student at the University of Bath.
- Field of study: You’re studying physics.
- Nationality: You are a student from the UK.
- Merit: Funding is awarded on the basis of academic or other achievements, and not solely on the basis of financial need.
How to apply
You do not apply yourself. If you meet the entry requirements, you will receive an email from the university inviting you to apply as soon as the application period begins.
How realistic are your chances?
Only one scholarship will be awarded, to a physics student at a single UK university. The pool of eligible applicants is small, as is the number of scholarships available. If you clearly meet the criteria relating to physics and the UK location, and stand out for your academic achievements should you be invited to apply, your prospects are good. Nevertheless, this is a single, highly competitive scholarship and not a widely available form of funding.
