What the Samsung Fashion Design Fund Award gives you

You will receive a one-off award of about 4,892 EUR for outstanding achievement in fashion design. This award is presented to the best students on the BA or MA Fashion programmes at Central Saint Martins, which is part of the University of the Arts London (UAL). The money comes from the Samsung Fashion & Design Fund, which is managed by the fashion division of Samsung C&T to support emerging fashion talent. This is an award for outstanding creative achievement, which is usually presented at or after your final show. It is not a monthly scholarship paid in advance.

Who can apply

• University: You are studying at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
• Course: You are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Your work: Judging by your coursework, your portfolio and your final exhibition, you are producing outstanding creative work.

How realistic are your chances?

This prize is very specific: only fashion students on a particular course at a specific London university can win it, so the pool of applicants is small. However, it is awarded for the most outstanding work, so you can’t simply apply and expect to win it. If your fashion designs at Central Saint Martins stand out, you have a real chance. Otherwise, it’s out of reach.
