About this scholarship

Saddlers' Company undergraduate bursary at City University London

You will receive about 2,900 EUR (£2,500) for one year, paid in three instalments. This will enable you to fund your final year of study at City University London (now City, St George’s, University of London). The money comes from the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, one of the oldest guilds in the City of London, which has been working with the university for over 130 years. It is awarded as a scholarship to students from low-income households.

Who can apply

  • University: You are studying at City University London (City St George’s, University of London).
  • Study phase: You are a final-year student.
  • Grades: You have achieved a total of 70% points or more in your second year of study. If your degree course lasts four years, this applies to your third year of study.
  • Financial need: According to Student Finance England’s assessment, your household income is between £0 and £25,000,, or you are in receipt of a full NHS scholarship.
  • Where you live: You can apply from anywhere, although preference will be given to applicants living in London.
  • Field of study: Any subject.

How to apply

Applications for the coming academic year must be submitted via City University London by 30 September. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview before a final decision is made.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a small target group: final-year students at a specific university who have achieved a grade of 70% and can prove that their household income is below £25,000.. If you clearly meet these criteria – particularly if you are a London resident – your chances are good. Make sure you apply in good time, as funds are limited and the decision will be made on the basis of an interview.
