What the High Fliers award gives you

For a full-time Master’s programme at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham, including the MArch programme in Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 2), you will receive 10% off your first-year tuition fees. This applies to the first year only. Most Master’s programmes last one year; however, if your programme lasts longer, the subsequent years will not be taken into account. For international students, the amount will be deducted directly from your tuition fees. Students from the UK and the EU will receive it as a cash payment. The award is administered by the Faculty of Engineering and recognises its top graduates.

Who can apply

• Your degree so far: You completed your bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Engineering in Nottingham with a ‘First Class’ degree, the highest possible grade.
• Which campus: You graduated from a campus in the UK, China or Malaysia.
• What you study next: A part-time Master’s programme at the Faculty of Engineering, full-time.
• Where you study: You are starting your Master’s degree in the UK.
• When you start: Your Master’s programme begins in 2025.
• Nationality: Open to students from the UK, the EU and other countries.
• Who pays your fees: You are responsible for paying the tuition fees yourself. You are not eligible to participate if an external company or organisation covers your fees.
• No stacking: This discount cannot be combined with other fee reductions or scholarships.

How to apply

There is no application form. Please send an email to the faculty, stating your student number, to confirm that you meet the requirements. Please do this by 31 October. After this date, the discount can no longer be granted.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is aimed at a narrowly defined target group: engineering graduates from Nottingham who have achieved the highest honours and are staying in the UK to undertake a Master’s degree with lectures. This is a small, clearly defined group, not an open competition. If you clearly meet the criteria and email the faculty in good time, you will not have to go through a selection process, so your chances are very good.
