Technology, Arts and Culture Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship

You get a 20% discount on your tuition fees for a taught postgraduate course in the Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU). The discount starts when you enrol and stays the same for your whole course. It covers courses starting in the 2025/26 or 2026/27 academic year, whether full-time, part-time or distance learning. The discount runs for the standard length of your course: 1 year for a full-time MA or MSc (3 years part-time), 1 year for a PG Dip (2 years part-time), 1 year for a PG Cert, and 2 years for the Architecture MArch. DMU offers it to reward its own graduates who come back for further study.

Who can apply

• You are a DMU graduate: You finished a degree at DMU's Leicester campus or through one of DMU's international education partners.
• Course: You are starting an eligible taught postgraduate course in Technology, Arts and Culture, such as Architecture MArch, Creative Writing MA, Cyber Security MSc, Computing MSc, Interior Design MA or Sport Management MSc. Undergraduate and research-based courses do not count.
• No previous DMU postgraduate degree: You have not already completed a postgraduate course with DMU.
• Nationality: Open to UK, EU and international graduates.
• You pay your own fees: You fund your tuition yourself. A government postgraduate student loan is fine, but you do not qualify if someone else sponsors part of your fees.
• No debt to DMU: You owe the university no money.

How to apply

There is no separate application. Once you enrol on an eligible course and meet the conditions, DMU applies the 20% discount automatically. You cannot combine it with another DMU scholarship. If you qualify for more than one, you get the more valuable one.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive award. It is an automatic discount for anyone who fits the rules, so there is no selection panel and no limited number of places. If you are a DMU graduate enrolling on one of the listed courses, paying your own fees and owing the university nothing, the discount is essentially yours. The only real step is checking that your specific course is on the eligible list before you enrol.
