Inspire the Future Scholarship (Kingston University)

You get a 40% cut in tuition fees for a taught master's or postgraduate diploma at Kingston University that starts in September. If you already hold a smaller Kingston discount of 15% or 10%, this tops you up to a total of 40%. It cannot be stacked on top of that discount or combined with other Kingston awards. Kingston University funds 20 of these scholarships from donations by alumni and friends, to help strong Kingston graduates carry on to postgraduate study.

Who can apply

• University: You are a current Kingston University undergraduate or a recent Kingston graduate moving up to a taught master's or postgraduate diploma.
• Your degree: You finished your Kingston undergraduate degree in 2025, or you finish it in 2026.
• Grades: You achieved or expect a 2:1 (a strong upper-second-class result). A 2:2 or lower does not qualify.
• Fee status: You are classed as a 'home' student for fees, not an overseas or international fee-payer.
• Course: Any taught master's or postgraduate diploma starting in September, except PGCE, MBA, Midwifery, Radiography, post-qualifying Social Work, Master's by Research and PhD.
• Not already started: You have not yet begun postgraduate study (no completed Level 7 qualification).
• One extra condition: When you first enrolled as an undergraduate, at least one of these applied to you: first in your family to go to university; family household income under £25,000 (about 29,000 EUR) a year; disabled or with a specific learning difference; a recognised young adult carer; care experience, foyer accommodation or estrangement from family and under 25 at the time; or holder of a Sanctuary Scholarship.

How to apply

Applications for September 2026 are closed. If you are aiming at a course starting in September 2027, register your interest through Kingston's online form. Academic staff in the faculty of your chosen course decide the awards. They judge your undergraduate results and a personal statement on how the course will shape your future.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly: only Kingston graduates with a 2:1 who pay 'home' fees and meet one of the extra conditions qualify, so the eligible pool is small. With just 20 scholarships, competition among those who fit is real, and the decision rests on your grades and a convincing personal statement. If you clearly meet every condition and register early, your prospects are solid.
