About this scholarship
What you get
You get a one-off payment of about 5,900 EUR (GBP 5,000) towards a one-year Master's in economics. The money comes from the Economics Department at University College London (UCL). It is a single lump sum to help cover the cost of your MSc year, awarded on academic merit. There is no monthly rate.
Who can apply
- Degree: You are applying for the MSc in Economics or the MSc in Economic Policy at UCL.
- Grades: You need strong academic results, since the award is decided on merit.
- Nationality: Open to applicants of any nationality.
- Focus (preference): If you want to specialise in international economics or European economic-policy questions, that counts in your favour. It is a bonus, not a requirement.
How to apply
There is no separate application. Everyone who applies to the department's MSc programmes is considered automatically. Only shortlisted applicants are contacted.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is limited to two specific UCL Master's programmes and decided purely on academic merit, so only top applicants to those courses come into contention. If you have excellent grades and, ideally, a focus on international or European economic policy, your prospects are reasonable. You are considered automatically once you apply to the MSc, so there is no extra effort to try for it.
