Technology, Arts and Culture Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship

You get a 20% discount on your tuition fees if you already graduated from De Montfort University (DMU) in Leicester and go on to a taught master's course in its Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture. The discount comes straight off your tuition bill when you enrol, so it is not paid out as cash. It lasts for the standard length of your course: 1 year for a full-time MA or MSc (3 years part-time), 1 year for a PG Dip (2 years part-time), 1 year for a PG Cert, and 2 years for the full-time Architecture MArch. Eligible subjects range widely, from Creative Writing, Interior Design and International Relations to Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Mechanical Engineering.

Who can apply

• DMU graduate: You have obtained a degree at the DMU campus in Leicester or at one of its partner universities abroad.
• Course: You are starting a taught postgraduate course from the eligible list in the Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture, beginning in the 2025/26 or 2026/27 academic year. Full-time, part-time and distance learning all count.
• No prior DMU master's: You have not yet completed a postgraduate programme at DMU.
• You pay your own fees: You are funding your tuition fees yourself. Whilst it is possible to obtain a government loan for postgraduate study, you are not eligible for one if a third party is covering part of your fees.
• No debt: You have no outstanding debts to the university.
• Nationality: Open to graduates from the UK, the EU and other countries.

How to apply

No separate application is required. If you meet the eligibility criteria, the 20% discount will be applied automatically as soon as you enrol on an eligible degree programme. It cannot be combined with any other DMU scholarship. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, you will receive the one with the higher value.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not an award that is granted on a competitive basis. Anyone who meets the criteria will receive it; there is therefore no selection panel and no set number of places. You simply need to ensure that the degree programme you have chosen is on the list of eligible programmes and that you are paying the fees yourself. If both of these apply, the discount is essentially guaranteed.
