About this scholarship

Nottingham Law School Professional Courses Scholarship

You will receive a tuition fee reduction of up to 50% (around 626 EUR) for one year whilst studying a part-time degree programme at Nottingham Law School. This is a reduction in your tuition fees, not a cash payment. Your tuition fees will simply be reduced upon enrolment. For part-time students, the reduction is spread across the individual years. Nottingham Trent University in the UK offers two schemes: one for students with outstanding academic achievements and one for students who have overcome significant challenges in their personal, social or educational lives.

Who can apply

  • Course: You have been offered a place on one of the relevant career-oriented programmes at Nottingham Law School, such as the LLM-SQE preparation course 1 & 2, the LLM Law Conversion and SQE 1 Preparation Course, the PG Diploma Conversion Course or a Barrister Training Course (full-time or part-time).
  • Study phase: You are a new student starting the degree programme in September 2026.
  • Who pays your fees: Your tuition fees are not already being covered by an employer, a government body or any other funding organisation.
  • Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
  • What you show: For the ‘Academic Excellence’ category, evidence of outstanding academic achievement as well as professional or personal achievements is required. For the ‘Outstanding Achievements’ category, evidence is required to show that you have overcome significant challenges. You may only apply for one of the two categories, and only once a year.

How to apply

Once you have been admitted to an eligible degree programme and have received your NTU student ID card, please apply via the online form. The application deadline is 1 July 2026 at 16:00. Applications received after this date will not be considered. A committee will make a decision within four weeks of the deadline, and this decision is final.

How realistic are your chances?

Only students who are already enrolled on one of these few degree programmes at Nottingham Law School can apply for this award, which means the pool of applicants remains small. The decision depends on the extent to which you meet the criteria; you therefore need a strong application: either outstanding grades or a compelling story of how you have overcome obstacles. If you clearly fall into one of these two categories and apply before the deadline, your chances are good.
