About this scholarship

Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 3,450 EUR (£3,000), which is spread across the duration of your degree and depends on your entry grades. There are two tiers: approximately 3,450 EUR (£3,000) if you achieve the equivalent of AAA or better at A-level (144+ UCAS points), or approximately 2,300 EUR (£2,000) for AAB (136–143 points). Equivalent grades in other qualifications are also taken into account, for example DDD or DDM in the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma or specified scores in the International Baccalaureate. The money is paid out in cash on a termly basis during the course. It is provided by the University of Roehampton in London and serves as a reward for outstanding school-leaving results.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are starting your first bachelor’s degree programme and do not yet hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Where you study: You will enrol directly at the University of Roehampton for the academic year beginning in September 2026, rather than at a partner university.
  • Fee status: You have ‘Home’ (UK) status. International students subject to overseas tuition fees are not eligible to apply, nor are students on an extended degree programme.
  • Grades: You must achieve at least AAB (136 grade points) or the equivalent in a BTEC, OCR Cambridge Technical, UAL, CACHE or IB qualification.
  • Field of study: Every subject counts.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they meet the requirements for domestic student status in the United Kingdom.

How to apply

There is no application form. If you enrol at Roehampton University and meet the academic and fee requirements, you will receive the scholarship automatically. This also applies to students who have been admitted via the ‘Clearing’ and ‘Adjustment’ processes.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competition that you can lose out on against other applicants. If you meet the grade threshold and are eligible for the home fee scheme, you will receive the funding automatically. Your prospects therefore depend on just one thing: whether your A-level or equivalent results reach at least AAB. If you meet this requirement and enrol at Roehampton University, the funding is yours.
