About this scholarship
The Trask Fund MRes Art Bursaries
If you are enrolled on an MRes programme in Art at Central Saint Martins, which is part of the University of the Arts London (UAL), you will receive a one-off waiver of 2,340 EUR (£2,000) from your first-year tuition fees. MRes stands for ‘Master of Research’, a one-year, research-oriented master’s programme. Three of these scholarships are awarded each year. The money will be applied to your tuition fees, not to your living costs.
Who can apply
- Course: You have been offered a place on the full-time MRes programme in Art at Central Saint Martins.
- Start date: Your course starts in September.
- Nationality and fee status: Anyone can apply, regardless of whether they pay domestic or international student fees.
- Financial need: You can prove that you are in financial difficulty. Applicants in financial difficulty are given priority, so this is a big plus.
How to apply
In addition to your application to study, you must submit a separate application using the form on the UAL scholarships page. The application deadline is around mid-September, shortly before the start of the academic year.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is very narrowly defined: only students who have been admitted to a full-time MRes programme in Art at Central Saint Martins are eligible to apply, so the pool of eligible candidates is small. As there are three scholarships available and applicants in financial need are clearly given priority, your chances are good if you meet these criteria and can demonstrate a genuine need. Apply as soon as you have received your offer of a place on the programme.
