Balis Foundation grant

You will receive a one-off grant to cover the costs of your law degree at the University of Liège (Université de Liège) in Belgium. The exact amount will be determined by the Balis Foundation’s committee based on your personal circumstances. The grant is intended to alleviate social or financial hardship, whilst also taking your academic performance into account.

Who can apply

• University and field: You are studying law at the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology (Faculté de Droit, Science politique et Criminologie) at the University of Liège.
• Study level: You are enrolled on a standard Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme. You cannot apply if you are studying for a specialised Master’s degree (Master de spécialisation) or a PhD.
• Financial need: You are in social or financial difficulty and can prove it, for example with tax statements and a household certificate.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Please apply online via the Foundation’s form by 30 November 2025. Please include proof of your income situation and a brief explanation of the difficulties you are facing. The Balis Commission will review all valid applications and select the scholarship recipients. Late applications will not be considered. Your application will be treated in confidence and will be submitted solely to the university’s student welfare service for assessment.
