About this scholarship

What the Willy Lynggaard Petersen Commemoration Scholarship gives you

You receive a one-off grant. The amount varies and is decided case by case. It helps pay for further training in the bricklaying trade, or rewards an excellent journeyman examination (the final exam that completes an apprenticeship). The fund is run by Kobenhavns Murerlaug (the Copenhagen Society of Bricklayers) and pays out once a year, in December.

Who can apply

  • Trade: You are a bricklayer: a trained journeyman, an apprentice or a master bricklayer.
  • What the money is for: You are training further in the trade, for example at a building constructor school or technical school, or you have just completed an outstanding journeyman examination.
  • Link to the Laug: Master bricklayers who are or were members of Kobenhavns Murerlaug are preferred, as are the widows or unmarried daughters of such members. Membership is not required for journeymen or apprentices.
  • Financial need: You can show you genuinely need the support.
  • Where you study: Your training is based in Denmark.

How to apply

Fill in the joint application form that covers all funds run by Kobenhavns Murerlaug and send it to the Laug in Copenhagen. Attach certified copies of your references and diplomas or exam certificates. Two people must sign to confirm your details are correct. The deadline is 15 November each year.
