About this scholarship
Master Builder Erik R. Nielsen and Wife's Scholarship
You get a one-off grant to help pay for further training in the masonry trade. The amount varies and is paid in a single instalment. The scholarship comes from Kobenhavns Murerlaug (the Copenhagen Masons' Guild) and has been awarded since 1994. Winners are announced at the medal ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall, usually in December.
Who can apply
- Who you are: You are a qualified bricklayer (murersvend) who has passed the journeyman’s examination.
- What the money is for: You will continue your training as a bricklayer, for example at a technical college (Teknikum) or a similar institution.
- Where you study: Any school is eligible. The guild itself is based in Copenhagen.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Who applies: Private individuals only; no companies or organisations.
- Proof of use: You must provide the guild with proof that you have spent the money on your training, for example by submitting examination certificates.
How to apply
Complete the guild’s application form and send it to Kobenhavns Murerlaug by 15 November each year. Enclose copies of your letters of recommendation and certificates, state what you intend to use the money for, and list any other grants you have applied for or received in the last 3 months.
If you are exploring further funding options beyond this guild scholarship, our guide Scholarships in Denmark covers additional support available across Denmark.
