About this scholarship
H.C. Andersens Fond study grant (Studielegat)
You get a one-off grant towards your education in Denmark. The foundation does not state the amount in advance. The money comes from the H.C. Andersens Fond (H.C. Andersen Foundation) in Odense. It hands out grants based on the will the author H.C. Andersen left in 1860. The grant supports young people who study or want to start an education. The awards are presented each year on 2 April, Andersen's birthday, at the museum in Odense. Note that the grant counts as taxable income in Denmark and is reported to the Danish tax authority (skat.dk).
Who can apply
- Where you live: You must live in Odense. This is the one firm condition.
- Who you are: You are a young person, a pupil or student, who is already in education or wants to start one.
- Field of study: Any subject, theoretical or practical, is eligible.
How to apply
Fill in the foundation's application form and email it to the foundation. The form asks for your family background and upbringing, any part-time jobs, your education so far, your current school or employer, why you are applying and what you would use the grant for. There is no fixed deadline.
