About this scholarship

Erasmus Supplementary Allowance (Generalitat Valenciana)

In addition to your Erasmus+ grant, you will receive a monthly allowance of up to 350 EUR for a maximum of 8 months of study abroad. The exact amount depends on the cost of living at your destination: around 350 EUR per month for Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, the Nordic countries and the United Kingdom; around 300 EUR for countries such as Portugal, Greece, Malta and the Czech Republic; and around 250 EUR for Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Turkey and similar countries. This is a regional grant from the Generalitat Valenciana, the government of the Valencian Community in Spain, which is awarded in addition to EU Erasmus+ funding. If your stay is shorter than 8 months, you will only receive a grant for the months you have actually spent there.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at a university within the Valencian higher education system or at an affiliated art college (ISEACV) in the Region of Valencia.
  • Degree level: You are studying on an official Bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) or a higher-level art course. Specialisation courses and university-specific qualifications (títulos propios) are not taken into account.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. You must either hold a passport issued by an Erasmus+ country or have a valid Spanish residence permit covering the duration of your stay abroad.
  • Erasmus+ place: Your university has already selected you for an Erasmus+ study period in an EU country, another Erasmus+ programme country or the United Kingdom.
  • Grades: Places are ranked according to marks, so good results will improve your position.
  • One stay: Only one stay per person is eligible for funding.

How to apply

You do not need to apply yourself. Your university will apply on your behalf, as it administers the Erasmus+ grants and submits a ranking list of eligible students. The application deadline is 15 working days after the publication of the annual call for applications in the regional official gazette (DOGV), usually at the beginning of March.

How realistic are your chances?

Only students who have already been selected for the Erasmus+ programme at a Valencian higher education institution are eligible to apply; the universities draw up a ranking list based on grades. The budget is substantial (up to 850,000 EUR for the period from 2025 to 2026). So, if you have secured your Erasmus+ place and are well placed amongst the applicants on your degree programme, your chances are good.
