About this scholarship
AEN-Utrecht exchange to Australia
You are studying as part of the one semester or one full year at a partner university in Australia without paying any tuition fees programme. You can choose from five Australian universities: Edith Cowan University, Griffith University, the University of Tasmania, Western Sydney University and the University of Wollongong. The programme is run by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in collaboration with the Australian-European Network (AEN) and the Utrecht Network. Please note that there are no monthly fees; the benefit lies in the fact that enrolment itself is free of charge.
Who can apply
- Home university: You are a student at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). The programme is open exclusively to UCM students.
- Degree level: You are a student on a bachelor’s degree programme (Grado). Master’s and PhD students are not eligible to apply.
- Field of study: You are studying any subject other than medicine.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are enrolled at UCM.
- One application: You may only submit one AEN application and must list three Australian universities in order of preference.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the UCM student portal between 20 December 2025 and 12 January 2026. A provisional list of accepted and rejected applicants will be published on 16 January 2026; the final decision will be announced on 3 February 2026.
How realistic are your chances?
This exchange programme is open exclusively to undergraduate students at UCM, meaning that the pool of applicants is limited to a single university. If you are studying a subject other than medicine at UCM and clearly state three host universities in your order of preference, your chances are good. Make sure you apply within the short application window in January, as late applications will not be considered.
