About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a one-off grant of 3,000 EUR to fund the UCLM Master’s programme in ‘International and Community Taxation’. This is a two-year Master’s programme that examines how taxation works in different countries and within the EU. The grant will be paid in two instalments: 1,200 EUR as soon as you accept the scholarship, and 1,800 EUR once you have passed all compulsory modules of the Master’s programme within 24 months of the start of your studies, achieving at least a ‘Notable’ (7 out of 10). The scholarship is funded by the Cortes de Castilla-La Mancha (the regional parliament) in conjunction with the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM). Only one scholarship will be awarded.
Who can apply
- Nationality or residence: You are a Spanish national or a foreign national living in Spain.
- Your degree: You already hold a Spanish ‘Licenciado’ or ‘Graduado’ degree, which enables you to enrol on this Master’s programme.
- Field of study: You have a degree in law, business administration, industrial relations or public administration and management.
- Grades: Your academic performance is taken into account in the selection process, so good marks are an advantage.
- Regional link (bonus, not a must): Applicants from the Castile-La Mancha region are awarded extra points, but you do not have to be from that region to apply.
How to apply
Please submit your identity document, a CV of no more than three pages, your academic transcript and a statement detailing any other funding you are receiving for the same purpose. Applications must be submitted by 9. September, 14:00, to the Cortes de Castilla-La Mancha or a vice-rector’s office at the UCLM. A joint committee comprising representatives from the parliament and the university will then make a decision based on your CV and academic achievements.
How realistic are your chances?
Only one scholarship is available, which is linked to a specific Master’s programme at the UCLM and restricted to a limited number of eligible degrees, meaning that only a small number of people are eligible. If your degree is in one of the subject areas listed and you have an excellent academic record, your chances are good – and even better if you are from Castilla-La Mancha. As only one scholarship is awarded, it will come down to who can present the most convincing CV and the best grades.
