Family Scholarships at UAO CEU

At the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU in Barcelona, you will receive a discount on your tuition fees if your family is classified as a large family or a single-parent family. How much you save depends on your family situation:

• 15% off if you come from a recognised large family (‘familia numerosa’) or a single-parent family.
• 20% off, if your family has five or more children (extended family in the special category).
• 30% off of the third child who was also enrolled at UAO CEU.
• 70% off of the fourth child who was also enrolled at UAO CEU.

The discount is not means-tested. It is automatically renewed each year, provided your status as a large family or a single parent remains valid. The university funds it from its own resources. UAO CEU is part of the CEU Group, one of Spain’s largest private educational institutions. Please note: The discount does not apply to fees for modules that you have to retake because you failed them.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are studying for a bachelor’s degree (‘grado’) at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU in Barcelona.
• Family status: Your family is officially recognised as a large family or a single-parent family, and you can provide evidence of this by means of a document such as a family card.
• Income: No income limit. Your family’s income is irrelevant.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. International students are eligible for the same discounts.
• Enrolled siblings: For levels 30% and 70%, three or four children from your family must be studying at UAO CEU at the same time.

How to apply

To begin with, start your admissions process on the university’s portal for prospective students. You should then submit your scholarship application via the CEU intranet, the university’s internal online system. Application deadlines: 21 March, 25 April, 23 May and 27 June.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive award. If your family is officially recognised as a large family or a single-parent family and you are studying at UAO CEU, you will receive the discount regardless of your income or your grades. You simply need to provide evidence of your family status. The real question is whether the university’s private tuition fees are still worth it for you after the discount has been applied.
