About this scholarship
Good Academic Performance Scholarship
This scholarship covers share of your tuition fees at IE University in Segovia, Spain. Older overviews state that it covers up to 75% of the tuition fees. The current information on the IE website states that this series of scholarships covers between 10% and 60% of the fees. The scholarship committee determines the exact percentage for each student. The scholarship is valid for the entire duration of your 4 or 5-year Bachelor’s degree, provided you meet the renewal conditions each year.
Keeping it each year: The extension is conditional upon you passing your exams. If you fail one exam, your funding will be reduced by one third. If you fail two exams, it will be reduced by two thirds. If you fail three or more exams, your funding for the following year will be withdrawn.
The scholarship merely reduces your tuition fees. It does not cover living costs or extracurricular activities.
Who can apply
- Level: You are starting a Bachelor’s degree at IE University.
- Field of study: Open to all Bachelor’s degree programmes.
- Nationality: Open to applicants from all countries.
- Grades: You have a school average mark of at least 8.5 out of 10, or the equivalent in your own education system.
- Financial need: Both your grades and your financial situation are taken into account. If you can prove that you are in a difficult financial situation, you will be given priority.
- Timing: Applications must be submitted before the start of the first year of study. Students who are already enrolled cannot apply; please therefore make arrangements for this before you start your studies.
How to apply
You should apply online via the IE portal for student finance applications as soon as you have been admitted and before your course begins. The IE Scholarships Committee assesses each application. Its decision is final and confidential.
How realistic are your chances?
The selection process is highly competitive, and meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee admission. The grade threshold of 8.5/10, as well as the requirement to demonstrate genuine financial need, narrows down the pool of applicants, meaning that a strong candidate who meets both criteria has good prospects. As places are allocated on a year-by-year basis, you should apply as soon as you have been admitted, rather than waiting.
