"Justicia de Aragón" training grant

You will receive 9,600 EUR in total over a period of 12 months for a paid work placement at ‘Justicia de Aragón’, the ombudsman’s office for the Spanish region of Aragon. The remuneration will be paid in two instalments: 2,400 EUR in month 2026 and 7,200 EUR in month 2027. In return, you will work 30 hours per week alongside the organisation’s staff under the guidance of a designated mentor. You will gain first-hand experience of how the organisation defends citizens’ rights, the Statute of Autonomy of Aragon and the Aragonese legal system. The placement runs from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027 and cannot be extended.

Who can apply

• Degree: You hold an official Bachelor’s degree (Grado) in Law or Social Work, awarded or recognised by the Spanish authorities.
• When you graduated: You must have obtained your degree within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
• Nationality: You are a national of Spain or another EU Member State.
• Residence: You must have lived in Aragon for at least one year prior to the publication of the call for applications.
• No prior grant: You have not yet received a scholarship from ‘Justicia de Aragón’. One exception: you may have stepped in as a substitute during the final semester of a previous scholarship.
• Availability: You have no other paid work or grant that clashes with the hours or reduces your training.
• Good standing: You are up to date with your tax and social security contributions and are able to deliver the training.

You can apply by email, in person at the office in Zaragoza, or by registered post. The deadline for applications is 3 May. The selection process consists of two stages. First, your academic grades, additional qualifications and relevant professional experience will be assessed. The six best candidates will then be invited to a compulsory interview.

How realistic are your chances?

As only one scholarship is awarded each year, competition is fierce. However, the eligibility criteria are narrowly defined: applicants must have recently obtained a degree in law or social work and must have been living in Aragon for at least one year, which keeps the pool of applicants small and local. If you meet these requirements, good grades and relevant additional study or work placement experience are crucial for making it into the top six candidates, who are invited to an interview.
