About this scholarship

University of Navarra Alumni Scholarship

You will receive a scholarship for one year to study for a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. You can renew it each year, provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. There is no fixed amount. The university will take into account your family’s financial situation, the costs of tuition fees and accommodation, as well as any other funding you may receive, and will then determine an amount. This will initially cover your tuition fees. If there is any money left over, part of your accommodation costs will be covered. Once a year, you can receive additional support for activities outside of your studies. You will also take part in a mentoring programme: an academic mentor will meet with you regularly and guide you in choosing voluntary work, sports, cultural activities and career paths. The scholarship is funded by former students, companies and institutions.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You are starting your first bachelor’s degree at the University of Navarra. Please submit your application during your first year of study. Applications for subsequent years will only be considered if there is a significant change in your family circumstances.
  • School stage: You are in your final year of the Abitur (upper secondary school) or an equivalent school-leaving qualification, or you completed this qualification last year.
  • Age: You were born in 2007 or later. Exceptions may be made if the delay is due to academic setbacks.
  • Grades: You have, or are expected to achieve, a school average mark of at least 8.50 out of 10.
  • Financial need: Your family’s per capita income 2024 was no more than 20,000 EUR. Income from capital assets and investment income was less than 3,000 EUR.
  • Housing: During your first two years, you will live in a hall of residence affiliated with the university or in an associated flat. If you live elsewhere, you will take part in the training programme instead.
  • Field of study: All degree programmes are open.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to a Bachelor’s degree programme via the miUNAV portal and request an estimate of costs and scholarship funding. As soon as the estimate confirms that you meet the grade and income requirements, a link to the alumni scholarship application form will appear. Complete this form and attach your supporting documents. The following deadlines apply for the academic year 2026–2027: 13 December 2025, 14. March 2026, as well as a final round on 31 May 2026. Applications for extensions must be submitted by around 1 May 2026. The Student Finance Office may invite you to an interview.

How realistic are your chances?

The eligibility criteria are strict. You will need excellent grades (8.50+), a demonstrable financial need within specified income limits, and a place at this particular Spanish university. Consequently, fewer people meet the requirements than is the case with open scholarships. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee funding: funds are limited, and awards are made in order of application and need. If you clearly meet the criteria, you should apply during the December round, as funds run out quickly.
