About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive 5,000 EUR for one semester abroad as well as an internship at a call centre run by the German company Arvato in your host country. Business students from the University of Salamanca (Spain) travel to Bucaramanga, Colombia. Students from Santo Tomás University in Bucaramanga come to Salamanca. Both your courses and your work placement will count towards your degree. Upon your return, you can take up a position at Arvato straight away, without having to start as a junior employee. The two universities and Arvato, a company within the Bertelsmann Group, have jointly launched the programme.

Who can apply

  • University: You are studying at the University of Salamanca or at Santo Tomás University in Bucaramanga.
  • Field of study: You are in your fourth year of studying Economics at the University of Salamanca. At Santo Tomás, you work at the BPO Chair, which forms part of the ‘International Business’ degree programme.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply, provided they are enrolled at one of the two partner universities.
  • Where you go: The pupils from Salamanca are travelling to Bucaramanga; the pupils from Santo Tomás are travelling to Salamanca.

How to apply

Please apply by 31 March via your university’s International Relations Office. A small number of suitable candidates will be selected for the exchange programme.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is extremely restrictive: only students at two specific universities, in a specific year of study and subject area, are eligible to apply, and as part of the pilot project, only one student per university was awarded funding. If you meet these criteria exactly and apply early, your chances are quite good, but the number of places is very limited.
