UniBA merit and hardship scholarship

You are eligible for a one-off payment of 500 EUR if you are studying at the University of Bari Aldo Moro (UniBA) in Italy, are achieving good academic results and come from a low-income household. The University of Bari awards up to 1,100 of these scholarships per academic year. They are aimed at students who achieve good academic results but are unable to finance their studies easily from their own resources.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Bari.
• Degree: You are studying for a Bachelor’s degree (laurea), a Master’s degree (laurea magistrale) or a single-cycle Master’s degree (laurea magistrale a ciclo unico).
• Timing: You are within the standard period of study or have exceeded it by no more than two years.
• Field of study: Open to all disciplines.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying in Bari.
• Grades: Students in the first year of a Bachelor’s or single-cycle degree programme must have a final grade of at least 60/100 (or 36/60). Students in the first year of a Master’s degree programme must have a Bachelor’s degree mark of at least 70/110. Students in higher semesters must have earned a certain number of credit points (CFU) by 30 November 2025.
• Income: Your ISEE (an Italian indicator of your household’s financial situation) must not exceed 30,000 EUR in order to be eligible for student grants.
• No double funding: You cannot receive an ADISU scholarship, another university scholarship or a government scholarship in the same year.

How to apply

You must apply online via the University’s ESSE3 portal between 27 May and 30 June 2026 (by 12:00). When doing so, please also provide your bank details (IBAN). If your ISEE is not yet available, please send it by email or PEC by 15 July 2026 at the latest.

How realistic are your chances?

There are up to 1,100 scholarships available, and at least one of these is awarded to each degree programme, so there is a large pool of places. Only students from Bari who meet the income and grade thresholds are eligible to apply for these scholarships. If you clearly meet the income threshold and academic requirements, your chances are good. In the event of a tie, the younger applicant will be given preference.
