Andalucia Federico Garcia Lorca postgraduate scholarship (AUIP)

You study a full Master's degree at a public university in Andalusia (southern Spain) without paying tuition fees. This covers up to 60 ECTS credits, which is roughly one full Master's year. Your accommodation and meals are also paid during the in-class teaching period, in the university's own halls of residence. The programme is run by the Asociacion Universitaria Iberoamericana de Postgrado (AUIP), a network of universities in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, together with the ten public universities of Andalusia. The regional government co-funds it. Around 56 to 61 scholarships are awarded each year, shared across the ten universities. Health insurance and administrative fees are not included.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You take an official Master's degree at one of the ten public universities of Andalusia (for example Granada, Malaga, Sevilla, Cordoba, Cadiz).
• Degree: You already hold a first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent) that lets you enter a Master's programme.
• Field of study: You can pick any field, as long as your degree matches the entry requirements for that Master's. You may choose up to 6 Master's programmes, at most 2 per university, ranked by preference.
• Where you come from: You are a student, graduate or teacher linked to a Latin American or Portuguese university that is an AUIP member.
• Residence: You live legally outside Spain. People already living in Spain cannot apply.
• Grades: Your degree grade average is between 7.5 and 10.0 on your home scale, and that scale must be shown on your transcript.
• No prior award: You have not previously received a scholarship for a Master's or other postgraduate programme at a public Andalusian university.

How to apply

You register and apply online through the AUIP application platform. Upload your documents and pick your Master's programmes in order of preference. Applications open for a short window in spring and close in early April. Selection is based mostly on your CV. The top-scoring applicants may be invited to a short video interview.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrowly targeted. You must be linked to an AUIP member institution in Latin America or Portugal, live outside Spain and have a grade average of at least 7.5. That keeps the applicant pool focused. With 56 to 61 places spread over ten universities, the odds are reasonable for a well-matched candidate. Your CV carries most of the weight, so a solid academic and professional record and a well-prepared application, submitted within the short spring window, give you good prospects.
