About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a grant of up to 10,000 EUR gross per year, as well as a full waiver of your tuition fees. This will enable you to study for an English-taught Master of Science at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy. There are two tiers. The Platinum Scholarship is worth 10,000 EUR: 5,000 EUR at the start of the year and 5,000 EUR once you have passed at least two exams. The Gold Scholarship is worth 8,000 EUR: 4,000 EUR at the start and 4,000 EUR once you have passed at least one exam. Each scholarship is valid for one academic year. You can renew it for a second year if you achieve a specified total score based on your marks and credit points. The university awards 10 Platinum and 18 Gold scholarships annually at its Milan campuses. If you accept the scholarship, you will pay a one-off, non-refundable administration fee of approximately 170 EUR.
Eligibility
- Degree level: You are starting the first year of an English-taught Master of Science (Laurea Magistrale) degree programme.
- Where you study: Your degree programme takes place at the ‘Milano Leonardo’ or ‘Milano Bovisa’ campus of the Politecnico di Milano.
- Field of study: All Master of Science degree programmes at these locations. Most of these are engineering degree programmes.
- Nationality: Any country can apply.
- Early application: You must submit your application during the ‘Early Bird’ period and pay the application fee between 1 October and 1 December 2025.
- English proof: You must submit a valid English language certificate by 21 February 2026.
- Grades: Your grade point average and your academic record are key factors in determining the outcome. For some degree programmes, a portfolio is also required.
How to apply
In addition to your application, you must complete a separate scholarship form on the university’s online services portal. The application period runs from 15 October to 15 December at 12:00 noon Italian time. A selection committee will then select the scholarship recipients based solely on the documents you submit, without an interview. Your grades, your suitability for the degree programme and factors such as your country of origin and age will be taken into account.
How realistic are your chances?
These are awards for outstanding achievement, with a fixed number of places available: 10 Platinum and 18 Gold scholarships for all Master’s students in Milan. Very good grades are crucial, and competition is fierce. Your chances are best improved by an outstanding academic record and an early application, as you cannot take part in the scholarship round until 1 December without paying the application fee. A clear, well-documented alignment with your chosen degree programme is what sets applicants apart from the rest.
