Antti ja Tyyne Soininen Foundation scholarship

You will receive a research grant for cardiovascular research (research in the field of the heart and blood vessels) at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), Kuopio Campus. The foundation awards around 15,000 EUR annually. The amount of individual grants varies depending on the project: in the 2025 round, individual grants ranged from 6,000 EUR to 15,000 EUR. The grant will support your research for approximately one year. The funding comes from the Antti and Tyyne Soininen Foundation, an independent charitable organisation that supports research at the Kuopio Campus.

Who can apply

• Where you study or work: You are a student or member of staff at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio Campus.
• Research topic: Your project focuses on cardiovascular research, i.e. research into the heart and blood vessels. Other areas of research are not eligible for funding.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the Foundation’s online funding system. Applications submitted in paper form or by email will not be accepted. The application period runs from the beginning of September until 25 September. Your application must include a PDF document comprising a research plan (3 to 4 pages), your CV with a list of publications, and a supporting letter from your supervisor. The committee will make its decision in November or December, and the names of the successful applicants will be published in December.
