About this scholarship

What the Satakunta High Technology Foundation grant offers

You will receive a research grant grant to carry out a technical, economic or scientific research or product development project in the Satakunta region of Finland. The foundation awards these grants twice a year. It allocates an annual budget amongst all successful applicants, so there is no fixed amount per application. Your grant may be reduced if you also receive a salary from employment whilst the project is underway. The funding is paid exclusively to the researcher, not to support staff. The grant comes from the ‘Satakunnan korkean teknologian säätiö’ (SKTS), a regional foundation that promotes research and development in Satakunta.

Who can apply

  • Who you are: You can apply as an individual researcher carrying out a research project or undertaking postgraduate study, or as a company or group working together.
  • Field: Your work must relate to research and product development in the fields of engineering, economics, computer science or the natural sciences.
  • Where the project happens: Your project must be based in the Satakunta region and focus on that region.
  • For a personal grant: You must carry out the research work yourself and must not act as a contracted assistant. If you receive an additional salary whilst carrying out the project, you must state this in your application.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. The key requirement is that your project focuses on Satakunta.

How to apply

Please complete the application form, which is available in Finnish and English. Send the signed form, together with the supporting documents, by email to the Foundation’s Managing Director, ensuring that the subject line begins with ‘Säätiön apuraha’. You must then also send the original form by post. There are two application deadlines each year: from 1 to 31 March and from 1 to 30 September. The Foundation bases its decision primarily on your project plan and timetable.
