About this award / prize

AUDIPOG-Nicole Mamelle Award

The prize for the best oral presentation is 600 EUR, whilst the prize for the best poster is 500 EUR. The prize is awarded once a year for a single scientific contribution. The prize is sponsored by AUDIPOG, a French network for perinatal health based at Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University. It is named after Nicole Mamelle (1940–2005), an epidemiologist who headed AUDIPOG from 1994 to 2002. It recognises outstanding scientific achievements in the fields of perinatal health, gynaecology and obstetrics.

Who can apply

  • Field: You work in the fields of gynaecology, obstetrics or perinatal health – in other words, in the care of mothers and newborns around the time of birth.
  • Who you are: You are a researcher, doctor, midwife or work in another healthcare profession. Students presenting their work are also welcome to take part.
  • What you submit: You will be giving a talk or presenting a poster at the annual conference. No separate application is required; the prize winner will be selected from among these contributions.
  • Nationality: People of all nationalities are welcome to take part. The talks will be delivered in French, and most of the contributions come from France and other French-speaking countries.

How to apply

You can take part by submitting a presentation or a poster to the annual ‘Journées Infogyn’ conference in Pau, France. The conference usually takes place in early October. The winners will be selected from the entries presented there.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a single annual prize awarded in one of two categories, selected from among the other presentations and posters at a conference. The field of entrants is small, but the bar is set high. If your work fits in with AUDIPOG’s focus on perinatal care and you present it at the congress, you will automatically be entered into the competition. The quality of your work is the deciding factor.
