About this scholarship
ESIEE Paris tuition scholarship
You will receive up to 60% of your annual tuition fees waived, which corresponds to a value of up to approximately 6,000 EUR per year. Fees are reduced from 8,280 EUR to 3,312 EUR in the first cycle of study and from 8,680 EUR to 3,472 EUR in the engineering cycle. This is not a cash payment. The amount will be deducted from your tuition fees, with at least 40% of the fees always remaining on your invoice. The university determines the exact percentage each year based on its budget and the number of applications, so it may vary from year to year. The scholarship is funded by ESIEE Paris, a member institution of the Université Gustave Eiffel. You can receive it alongside the state-funded CROUS social scholarship and must reapply each year.
Who can apply
- Programme: You are enrolled as a regular student on an engineering degree programme. Students on a dual-track programme and participants in the IMAC programme are not eligible to apply.
- Where you study: At ESIEE Paris, near Paris.
- Nationality and residence: You are a French national or a foreign national with a valid residence permit, whose family has been paying tax in France for at least two years.
- Tax household: You are part of a French tax household (foyer fiscal), which is treated as a family unit on the French tax return.
- Financial need: The amount of the allowance depends on your family’s income per tax bracket. The lower your family’s income, the higher the allowance.
- Attendance and conduct: If you have more than 20 hours of unexcused absence, your grant will be halved, and if you have more than 30 hours, it will be withdrawn entirely. A disciplinary sanction will result in expulsion. If you have to repeat the school year, the grant amount for that year will also be halved.
- Status: You cannot apply if you have dropped out of your degree programme or are taking a gap year.
How to apply
The application form will be published on the school’s intranet after the autumn half-term (Toussaint), and you should submit it during November. The awards committee will meet in late January or early February to determine the amount of the discount, and the results will be announced in March or April. You can use an online simulator on the school’s website to estimate the likely amount of your discount based on your tax assessment notice.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is aimed exclusively at engineering students at ESIEE Paris, meaning that the pool of applicants is limited to those who are already enrolled at the university and who meet the eligibility criteria regarding residence and financial need. If your family income is modest and you have no absences or behavioural issues, you stand a good chance of being successful. The exact percentage varies each year depending on the budget and the number of applicants. Make sure to keep your absences to a minimum, as even 20 unexcused hours will result in your grant being halved.
