Feminiscienza prize (Collectivité de Corse)

You receive a one-off 1,000 EUR, or 2,000 EUR if the jury names you its special "Coup de coeur" winner. The Collectivité de Corse, the regional authority of Corsica, awards this prize once a year to encourage young women to move into science and technology. Up to 21 young women are chosen each year, from a total budget of 22,000 EUR. If you win, you are asked to take part in events such as the Fête de la Science and to answer follow-up surveys over three years.

Who can apply

• Gender: You are a young woman.
• School year: You are in your final school year (Terminale) at a lycée in Corsica. General, technological, vocational and agricultural schools all count, whether public or state-contracted private.
• Subject: At a general lycée you take a science specialism: physics-chemistry, biology/SVT, computing/NSI, engineering/SI or maths. At a technological, vocational or agricultural lycée you follow a science or technical track.
• Future plans: You are heading into a science or technical course at university. Health-access tracks (LAS, PASS), paramedical training (nursing, care assistant, physiotherapy) and BTS courses do not count.
• Residence: Your household pays tax in Corsica.

How to apply

You send your full application by post to the Service de la diffusion de la culture scientifique in Ajaccio. The deadline for the 2026 cycle is 4 March 2026 (the postmark date counts). If you get through, you present your study plan in person to a jury in July, after your baccalauréat exams.

How realistic are your chances?

This prize is cut narrowly. You must be a young woman in your final school year in Corsica, on a science track, and pay tax there, so the eligible group is small. With up to 21 winners each year, the odds are far better than for open scholarships. If you clearly fit and can show a genuine science plan, your prospects are good.
