Housing support for medical trainees in Aveyron

You get a monthly housing allowance while you train or work as a part-time assistant in the Aveyron department in France. The amount depends on your role: 300 EUR per month if you are a medical intern or extern (a student doing a clinical placement), or 100 EUR per month if you are a part-time hospital assistant. An incomplete month is paid pro rata. The money runs for the length of your placement or contract. The Aveyron department pays it to help cover your rent when you cannot get the national housing allowance.

Who can apply

• What you are doing: You are a medical intern on an outpatient placement with a private doctor in Aveyron, a medical extern on a placement in Aveyron, or a part-time hospital assistant in Aveyron.
• Where you go: Your placement or contract is in the Aveyron department. For interns, the placement must be in the Regional Support Zone (ZAR), an area set by the regional health authority.
• National allowance: You cannot get the national housing allowance. If your faculty already pays it automatically (for example the Montpellier faculty), you do not need this support.
• No double funding: You do not receive another public grant for the same purpose.
• Proof of rent: You can show rent receipts and a signed placement agreement or assistant contract for an Aveyron institution.

Apply through the online form on the Accueil Medecins Aveyron website. Submit it while your placement is running. There is no fixed annual deadline.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a targeted top-up, not a competitive scholarship. There is no selection contest. If you train or work in medicine in Aveyron, cannot get the national allowance, and can produce your contract and rent receipts, you should receive it. Apply during your placement and keep your paperwork ready, since eligibility rests on documents rather than merit.
