Banque Populaire disability grant

You will receive 1,000 to 15,000 EUR per year for a life project that you wish to realise. The money will be paid out over a period of 1 to 3 years, and the jury may extend this period following an assessment of your application. You choose the project yourself: setting up a business, funding a university degree or a career change, developing an artistic endeavour, or embarking on a high-performance sporting career. In addition to the funding, you will receive advice and access to the Banques Populaires’ network. The Banque Populaire Corporate Foundation has been supporting people with physical or sensory disabilities since 1992.

Who can apply

• Age: You are of legal age and under 50.
• Disability: You have a physical (motor) disability or a hearing or visual impairment.
• Recognised level: The MDPH, the French departmental disability authority, has officially assessed your degree of incapacity for work as being greater than 50%.
• Where the project happens: You are carrying out your project in France, including the overseas departments (DOM-TOM).
• Field: Any type of project is eligible: business, academic studies, the arts or sport. Funding is not available for technical aids, accessibility modifications, the purchase or conversion of vehicles, or sponsorship.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• One shot: You may only apply once. If your application is rejected, you will not be able to apply again.

How to apply

Please submit your complete application online via the Foundation’s platform between 29 June and 6 September 2026. Please ensure that your application documents are complete, as incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications will first undergo a pre-selection process by a preliminary jury, after which the main jury will make the final decision, sometimes following an interview.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is very narrowly defined: you must have a recognised disability with a severity level of at least 50%, a project based in France, and a clear, realistic life plan. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants remains small. The selection panel chooses projects on the basis of their relevance and originality rather than the nature of the disability; therefore, a well-thought-out, well-documented plan is crucial to success. As you only have one chance, you should prepare your documents carefully before submitting them.
