About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a monthly grant averaging about 390 EUR, paid in 12 instalments per year. The total annual amount is approximately 1,454 to 6,335 EUR and is determined by a scale with 8 bands, based on your household income. The lower your income, the more you will receive. You will receive this grant whilst undertaking a training course in nursing, healthcare or social care in the Hauts-de-France region in northern France. The grant applies for the entire duration of your training and can be renewed each year, provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. For some further education courses, the tuition fee (CVEC) is also reimbursed. The grant is paid by the Regional Council of the Hauts-de-France region.

Eligibility

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at an educational establishment recognised by the Hauts-de-France region which offers one of the eligible courses.
  • Field of study: Your degree programme leads to a recognised qualification in the field of social work (e.g. special needs teacher, family and social worker, early years educator) or in a healthcare profession (e.g. nurse, care assistant, midwife, physiotherapist, paramedic, radiography assistant).
  • Age: At the time of your initial application, you will be in 28 on 1 September of the training year. If you have a recognised disability, there is no age limit.
  • Continuous studies: You have not taken a break from your studies lasting more than one year.
  • Nationality: You are a French national, an EU citizen or a non-EU citizen with a valid residence permit in France.
  • Financial need: The amount depends on your income or, if you are not yet financially independent, on your parents’ income.
  • No double funding: You are not currently receiving a CROUS grant (the state study grant), nor are you undertaking an apprenticeship or employed under an apprenticeship contract, nor are you enrolled in a company-run further training programme, nor are you receiving unemployment benefit in connection with your training.

How to apply

You can apply for funding online via the region’s funding portal. There, you can upload your documents and track the progress of your application.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is tied to a specific region and a set list of courses in the health and social care sector, meaning that the group of those eligible for funding is limited. It is not a broad, open selection process. If you are enrolled on one of the listed courses at a recognised higher education institution in the Hauts-de-France region and meet the age and income criteria, your chances are good. Funding is awarded on the basis of financial need rather than through a competitive process; therefore, it is more important that you clearly meet the eligibility criteria than that you stand out from the rest.
