Grenoble INP Foundation - Citizenship Grant

Benefit

You will receive financial support to enable you to continue your studies at Grenoble INP – UGA if social, financial or personal difficulties are jeopardising your studies. The amount is determined on a case-by-case basis, is approximately 135 EUR and is tailored to your circumstances. The funds come from donations made by alumni, parents of students, staff and partner organisations of the Grenoble Institute of Technology. There are two categories of support: ‘Social Mobility’ for students from low-income backgrounds undertaking long-duration degree programmes in the natural sciences and engineering, and ‘Special Support’ for students affected by a sudden event such as illness, family problems or a financial crisis.

Eligibility

• University: You are enrolled at one of the Grenoble INP – UGA universities (for example, Ense3, Ensimag, Esisar, Génie Industriel, Grenoble IAE-INP, Pagora, Phelma, Polytech Grenoble or La Prépa des INP).
• Field of study: All subjects taught at these schools, particularly the natural sciences, engineering and business studies.
• Your situation: You are facing social, financial, physical or emotional difficulties which could prevent you from starting or continuing your studies.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Commitment: If you select this option, you will sign a recipient’s charter (an agreement) and undertake to attend classes, sit your examinations and inform the Foundation should your circumstances change.

How to apply

You do not apply online. Please contact the Enrolment Office (Service Scolarité) at your university. The office identifies students in need and forwards their applications to the foundation. Applications are assessed throughout the year, so there is no fixed application deadline.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is intended exclusively for students at Grenoble INP – UGA who can demonstrate that they are in genuine financial or personal hardship; the number of eligible applicants is therefore small. The decision depends on your documented circumstances and not on whether you can beat the competition from many other applicants. If you are enrolled at either of the two universities and can clearly demonstrate your hardship, your chances are good. As applications are assessed throughout the year, you should discuss your situation with your academic adviser as soon as it arises.
