University of Chichester Bursary

You will receive approximately 1,150 EUR (1,000 GBP) in total over your whole degree. The amount will be paid in three annual instalments: approximately 460 EUR (400 GBP) in the first year, followed by approximately 345 EUR (300 GBP) in each of the second and third years. A scholarship is a form of financial support that you never have to repay. The University of Chichester awards it to students from low-income families who are studying at its Bognor Regis or Bishop Otter (Chichester) campuses.

Who can apply

• Level: You are starting a full-time bachelor’s degree programme, including a foundation degree. This must be your first higher education qualification.
• University: You are studying at the University of Chichester, either at the Bognor Regis campus or the Chichester campus.
• Status: You are a home student (resident in the United Kingdom for the purposes of the tuition fee regulations) and not an international student.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Financial need: Your household income is 25,000 GBP or less, or you received free school meals at school.

How to apply

You do not need to complete a separate form. The university will review your UCAS application details and let you know at the start of your degree whether you meet the requirements. The current round is aimed at students starting their degree in September 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

Your chances are good if you meet the eligibility criteria. There is neither a competitive selection process nor a minimum grade requirement, so you will automatically receive the scholarship as soon as you enrol as a home student on a full-time course at the University of Chichester and pass the means test. The decisive factors here are your income or your entitlement to free school meals.
