About this scholarship

Scholarships for Master Studies at UJI

You will receive up to 1,000 EUR as a one-off payment for one academic year. This amount covers the enrolment fees for an official Master’s programme at the University of Jaume I (UJI) in Castellón, Spain. Depending on the amount of your tuition fees, the scholarship will cover these fees in full or in part. The UJI funds this scholarship in partnership with Banco Santander.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You will already have a university degree by the start of the academic year.
  • Where you study: You are enrolled on an official Master’s programme at UJI for a total of 60 ECTS credits.
  • Field of study: Any subject area. Any official UJI Master’s programme is eligible.
  • Financial need: Your family’s income must remain below certain limits, for example 19,970 EUR for a single-person household or 49,657 EUR for a family of four. If you live independently, you must provide evidence of an annual income of at least 3,000 EUR, as well as a tenancy or property purchase agreement in your name with a term of at least one year.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. You must be registered with the Spanish tax authorities. If you are not resident for tax purposes in Spain, please provide a certificate of residence from your home country.
  • No debts: At the time of your application, you had paid all outstanding fees to the UJI.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the UJI scholarship platform (IGLU) or the Santander application platform. Places are allocated through a selection process. Applicants are ranked primarily on the basis of their family’s per capita income. In the event of a tie, the average mark from the bachelor’s degree will be the deciding factor.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very restrictive. You must be enrolled at a specific university, be completing a full academic year of a Master’s degree, and meet strict income thresholds, meaning that the number of people eligible for the grant is small. If you clearly meet the income limits and can provide evidence of your circumstances, your chances are good, as selection is based primarily on financial need rather than on the number of applicants.
