About this scholarship
Top Ten Student Program (University of Bergamo)
The University of Bergamo will waive your main tuition fee (the ‘contributo onnicomprensivo’) in full or in part if you are among the top-performing students. There is no fixed amount: the amount depends on the fee you would otherwise have to pay. You will still be required to pay the regional tuition fee (tassa regionale) and stamp duty (imposta di bollo). The University rewards academic excellence regardless of family income, meaning that up to 10% students on Bachelor’s, Master’s and single-cycle Master’s programmes can benefit from this.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or single-cycle Master’s degree programme at the University of Bergamo.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: All nationalities are welcome, with no restrictions on place of residence.
- Financial need: None. Selection is based solely on academic merit, regardless of income.
- Grades if you are starting a Bachelor's: Your final Maturità mark is at least 85 out of 100.
- Grades if you are starting a Master's: You have completed your Bachelor’s degree with a mark of 105 out of 110 or higher, which entitles you to a full exemption.
- Grades if you are in your second year or later: Your weighted average mark and the credit points (CFU) you have earned up to 10 August will determine whether you meet the entry requirements.
- Continuity: You’ve been studying non-stop ever since you started your degree.
- Advance payment: You must pay the advance fee of 156 EUR by the deadline for your degree programme.
How to apply
No application needs to be submitted. The Registrar’s Office automatically checks all enrolled students and publishes the list of selected students by 31 January (for the academic year 2026–2027, by 31 January 2027).
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a selection process, but rather a performance threshold. If your marks exceed the figures stated above and you remain enrolled without interruption, you will be automatically selected – without the need for an application form or an income assessment. The programme has places for up to 10% students; the further your marks exceed the threshold, the more secure your place on the course will be.
