About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off payment of 600 EUR to fund a study placement or work placement abroad within the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion. This region links Catalonia and the Balearic Islands in Spain with the French regions of Occitanie (Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées). Your stay must last between 3 and 9 months. You may combine this grant with other scholarships, such as state study grants or other mobility grants (financial support for studying abroad). It therefore supplements any funding you may already be receiving. The grant is provided by the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion, a cross-border partnership between these Spanish and French regions.

Eligibility

  • Degree level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme.
  • Where you study: Your home university is located within the Euroregion (Catalonia, the Balearic Islands or the French regions of Languedoc-Roussillon or Midi-Pyrénées) and awards state-recognised degrees.
  • Where you go: You are undertaking a study placement or work placement lasting between 3 and 9 months at a higher education institution in another region of the Euroregion.
  • Field of study: Any topic is fine.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at a higher education institution within the Euroregion.

How to apply

Please submit your application to the regional office responsible for your home region within the Euroregion. Please check in advance whether your region is currently offering this funding, as not all regions run the scheme every year.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is geographically very limited. Only students at universities in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands or the two French regions may apply, and the placement must take place within this same small area. This keeps the pool of applicants small. If your home university is located within the Euroregion and your work placement is taking place in another region of that Euroregion, you clearly meet the eligibility criteria, so your prospects are good. Just make sure that your region is offering the scholarship this year.
