About this scholarship

What you get

You get help with your Master's tuition fees at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin. How much depends on the course: two programmes cover the full EU tuition fee, two others give a fixed reduction. For the 2026 round the four awards were:

  • MA Design History and Material Culture (part-time): full EU fee of 7,600 EUR covered.
  • MA Art in the Contemporary World (part-time or full-time): full EU fee of 6,840 EUR covered.
  • MA Service Design (part-time): 2,250 EUR off your fees.
  • MA Circular by Design (part-time): 2,250 EUR off your fees.

NCAD gives one scholarship per programme, so four students are funded each year.

Who can apply

  • Course: You have applied to one of the four Master's programmes listed above at NCAD.
  • Level: You are starting a Master's (postgraduate) programme.
  • How you win: Every applicant to a programme is considered automatically. The strongest candidate on each course wins, so merit decides.
  • Extra document: You write a short statement (about 500 words, or one page) explaining why you deserve the scholarship.

How to apply

First apply for your chosen Master's programme at NCAD. Then upload your 500-word scholarship statement with that application. For the 2026 round the deadline was 31 May 2026 at 23:59, with winners announced around late June on NCAD's social media and college channels.

How realistic are your chances?

Four scholarships are awarded in total, one per programme. You compete only against the other applicants to your own course.
