About this scholarship

What you get

On the three-year Bachelor’s degree programme in Economics at the Università LUM Giuseppe Degennaro, a private university in Casamassima near Bari in southern Italy, you will be awarded a partial tuition discount. It comprises two programmes: Economia e Gestione Aziendale (L-18), which is taught in Italian, and Business Economics and Organization (L-18R), which is taught entirely in English. Both last 3 years (180 ECTS, the European Credit Transfer System credits). The annual tuition fees amount to 5,500 EUR, although this fee is reduced by a discount. The amount of the discount depends on your final mark in the first year and on your examination results in subsequent years.

Who can apply

  • Course: You are either just starting one of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Economics at LUM (L-18 or L-18R) or are already enrolled on one.
  • School grade (first year): You need a final mark of at least 90 in 100. This will entitle you to a discount of 10% on 90–94, of 15% on 95–99, and of 20% for a full discount of 100.
  • Results (later years): For the year 2 and the year 3, you will receive a discount of 10%, provided you achieved at least 40 ECTS credits in the previous year with a grade point average of at least 28 out of 30.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • No double funding: You may not receive another scholarship that covers your tuition fees at the same time.

How to apply

You do not need to submit a separate application for these means-tested reductions. They will be calculated at the time of enrolment based on the final grade you have submitted. Enrolment takes place via the University’s MYLUM portal, and applications for the selection process for tuition fee exemptions must be submitted by 12 October.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a performance-based discount and not an open competition. If you meet the grade thresholds, you will automatically qualify; there is no set number of places available. The decisive factor is your own performance: a final mark of 90 or higher guarantees you the discount in your first year of study, and this discount is maintained provided your examination results remain consistent.
