About this scholarship
BU Santander Scholarship
You will receive a one-off payment of about 5,750 EUR (£5,000) to help cover your study costs at Bournemouth University. You can use it towards tuition fees, course materials, accommodation or professional development. The funding comes from a partnership between Bournemouth University and Santander Universities UK. Two of these scholarships are awarded in Bournemouth each year. You do not need to be a Santander customer to apply.
Who can apply
- University: You are a full-time student at Bournemouth University this academic year.
- Level of study: You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student, regardless of your year of study.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Age: You are at least 18.
- Residence and fees: You live in the UK and pay the ‘Home Fee’ rate. This is the lower tuition fee rate for students resident in the UK, not the higher rate for international students.
How to apply
Applications are made via the Santander Open Academy portal. Register for free, confirm your email address, complete the form and take an online test. The application deadline for the 2025/26 round is 19 February 2026. Following this, a selection process will determine who receives the prize.
How realistic are your chances?
Only students at Bournemouth University with ‘Home Fee’ status are eligible to apply, meaning that the pool of applicants is limited to a single university. However, as there are only two scholarships available and the call for applications is open to all subjects and years of study, competition amongst eligible students is fierce. A strong application, submitted by the deadline, will give you the best chance of success.
