About this scholarship
EAU Short Visit Grant
You will receive up to 2,000 EUR for a short-term stay of two weeks to one month at a leading urological centre in Europe. This amount covers your personal expenses: travel, accommodation and insurance. You will receive 80% approximately one month before the start of your stay, and the remaining 20% following approval of your final report. The scholarship is provided by the European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP) of the European Association of Urology (EAU). You may use the stay to learn a specific surgical or clinical procedure, to prepare for a longer one-year fellowship, or to work as a visiting professor or visiting doctor.
Who can apply
- Who you are: You are a urologist, a trainee urologist, a researcher, a scientist or a nurse.
- EAU membership: At the time of your application, you must have been a member of the EAU for at least one year (the year 2026 counts as a transitional year).
- Where you go: The centre you visit must be located in Europe. A certified EUSP host centre is recommended, but not compulsory. This is only compulsory if you are preparing for a one-year scholarship.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- No double funding: During your stay, you must not receive any salary, funding or other grants. As a general rule, you may only receive one EUSP scholarship, unless the short-term stay is intended to prepare you for a one-year scholarship.
- Publications (only if preparing for a one-year scholarship): You have at least three PubMed publications in peer-reviewed international journals, at least one of which was as first author.
How to apply
You apply online via your MyEAU account. There are three application deadlines each year: 1 January, 1 May and 1 September. The EUSP Committee will review all applications and notify you of the outcome within three months of the deadline. Please do not plan your visit during this period, as your application will otherwise be automatically rejected.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is aimed at a small, specialised group: EAU members who are working or training in the field of urology and related research. If you fit this profile, have been a member for the required number of years and can demonstrate a clear, well-planned placement at an approved host institution, your chances are good. Thanks to the three application rounds per year and the manageable funding amount, the pool of suitable applicants remains manageable.
