What EDiSU Pavia offers

Extraordinary Contributions is a set of emergency grants for students at the University of Pavia who hit serious money or health problems. It is run by EDiSU Pavia, the regional body for student support. There is no single fixed payment. The support covers one-off hardship payments, a cash contribution towards rent for students living away from home, and extra help for students with a very severe disability. Amounts are set case by case and are not published in advance. For 2025/2026, EDiSU raised the total budget to 250,000 EUR.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Pavia.
• Your situation: You face a serious financial or health difficulty, or you have a very severe disability, depending on which grant you apply for.
• Rent grant: For the housing contribution you must live away from home (not from Pavia), rent a place in Pavia for your studies, and have an ISEEU of no more than 20,000 EUR. ISEEU is Italy's official measure of your family's finances, adjusted for university support.
• No double funding: For the rent grant you must not already get other public housing benefits.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you study at the University of Pavia.

How to apply

You apply online through the EDiSU student portal ('Servizi on line allo Studente'). Each grant has its own deadline. The 2026 rent contribution funded by national MUR money closes on 6 August 2026 at 23:59.

How realistic are your chances?

These grants target Pavia students in genuine hardship, so the eligible group is small and clearly defined. If you study at Pavia, meet the income or health conditions, and can document your situation, your prospects are solid. The rent contribution depends on national funds being released, so the exact amount is only fixed later.
