International Postgraduate Scholarships (Manchester Metropolitan University)

What you get

You get a one-off tuition fee reduction of about 5,800 EUR (£5,000) in your first year on most eligible master's courses at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). For some courses the reduction is about 3,500 EUR (£3,000): the MBA, Master of Sport Directorship, Master of Architecture, MA Architecture and Urbanism, MA Architecture and Adaptive Reuse, and Master of Landscape Architecture. The money comes straight off your tuition fees. It is not paid to you and it applies to one year only. If you study part-time, the amount is split across your two years.

Who can apply

• Degree: You have an offer for a taught master's course (180 credits) at MMU. Postgraduate diplomas, certificates (including PGCE), the Graduate Diploma in Law and any course that does not lead to a master's degree do not count.
• Start date: Your course begins in September 2026 or January 2027.
• Where you study: The course runs at MMU's Manchester campus.
• Nationality: You are an international student from outside the UK and pay fees as an overseas student.
• Who pays: You fund your studies yourself and pay full overseas tuition fees. If a sponsor pays for you, you do not qualify.
• Field of study: Most subjects count, but a few courses are excluded, such as MSc Place Management and Leadership, LLM Legal Practice and LLM Legal Practice at the Bar.

How to apply

There is no separate application. MMU checks whether you qualify when you apply for your master's course. The reduction then comes off your fees automatically when you enrol.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive award. There is no selection and no limited number of places. If you are a self-funding international student with an offer for an eligible taught master's starting in September 2026 or January 2027, the reduction applies automatically. Just check your course is not on the excluded list. Note that it cannot be combined with any other MMU discount.
