About this scholarship
What you get
You get a fully funded place at University College Oxford ("Univ"). Your full course fees are paid. On top you receive a living-cost grant (stipend) of about 23,900 EUR per year (around £20,400, adjusted yearly to the UK research-council standard). The award runs for the full length of your course: usually 1 to 2 years for a Master's, 3 years for a Politics DPhil, 3.5 years for most DPhils, and 4 years for four-year doctoral training programmes. The money comes from University College Oxford, funded by former College members and topped up with University and research-council money. Oxford-Radcliffe is the main name in a family of these awards. Related ones carry donor names such as Oxford-Anderson, Oxford-Ashton and Oxford-Bob Thomas. For 2026 entry Univ plans around 30 fully funded packages across all subjects.
Who can apply
- Level: You are applying for a full-time graduate course at Oxford, either a Master's or a doctorate (DPhil).
- Field of study: Awards cover the humanities, maths and sciences, medical sciences and social sciences. Some named awards target set subjects, for example engineering, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, oncology, neuroscience, or politics and international relations.
- Where you study: At the University of Oxford. If you win, you are placed at University College, which replaces any earlier college offer.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
- Grades: You need an outstanding academic record. Awards go to the most academically excellent applicants.
How to apply
For most of these awards there is no separate scholarship form. You submit the standard Oxford graduate application for your course by its December or January deadline, and all eligible applicants are considered automatically. Four-year doctoral training programmes may need an extra application to the programme. Each department runs its own annual competition, with decisions usually reached between late April and late May.
