International Student Scholarships (UWE Bristol)

What you get

You get up to about 4,700 EUR (up to £4,000) off your tuition fees in your first year at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). This is a one-off discount on your fees, not cash paid to you. It applies only to your first year and does not repeat later. The university offers it to international students to help cover the higher overseas fee and bring a wider mix of students to its Bristol campus.

Who can apply

• Fee status: You pay the overseas (international) tuition rate. EU students can also be considered.
• Level: You are starting an undergraduate (bachelor's) course or a taught postgraduate (master's) course.
• Where you study: You study at a UWE Bristol campus, not at Hartpury University, Bristol Old Vic or a partner institution abroad.
• Course: Most courses count. Excluded are English pre-sessional programmes, CPD short courses, postgraduate distance learning and postgraduate research degrees, plus the MBA, BPTC, LPC, GDL and MSc Robotics.
• How you are chosen: The university looks at your course choice, personal statement, references, results, any interview, your skills and experience, and your home country. Awards are made entirely at its discretion.

How to apply

There is no separate application. If you are chosen, the university offers you the scholarship after you have received an offer of a place. When you accept, you must show you can cover your living costs and the rest of your fees under UK visa (UKVI) rules.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is given at the university's discretion, not by a fixed rule, so there is no form to polish and no guarantee even if you fit. Because it is decided from your admission details, a strong course choice, a clear personal statement and good results are what put you in the running. Treat it as a possible bonus on top of your place, not something you can count on.
