About this scholarship

What you get

You get 900 EUR per month for 12 months, a total of 10,800 EUR (gross, before Spanish tax and social-security deductions). You work 25 hours a week, usually Monday to Thursday from 8:15 to 14:30. A tutor guides you the whole time. The funding comes from the Fundacion Lazaro Galdiano, a Spanish state foundation that runs the Lazaro Galdiano art museum in Madrid. There are four scholarships, one in each area: archive; library and archive; education; and event management and marketing. The scholarship runs from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027. It does not count as an employment contract.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You finished a university degree (Spanish Grado, Licenciatura or equivalent) after May 2022.
  • Field of study: Your subject must match the scholarship you pick. For archive or library-and-archive, you need a degree in information and documentation, or any degree plus at least 200 class hours in archive, library or documentation subjects. For education, you need fine arts, art history, pedagogy or a related field. For event management and marketing, you need cultural management, event organisation, protocol and corporate communication or a related field.
  • Where you go: You are based at the museum in Madrid, Spain.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • No previous award: You have never held or turned down a scholarship from this foundation before.
  • No conflicting activity: You do not draw unemployment benefit or a similar scholarship at the same time, and you do no other work that would disrupt the training.

How to apply

You apply by email using the forms on the foundation's website, between 30 July and 7 September 2026. The deadline is 7 September at 12:00. You may submit up to two applications with a priority order. If you score at least 5 out of 7 in the document review, you are invited to an interview between 8 and 21 September. Results are announced on 24 September 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This is cut narrowly: only four places, each tied to a specific field and based on-site in Madrid, so the eligible pool for any one scholarship is small. If your degree clearly fits one area and you finished after May 2022, your prospects are decent. Relevant work experience and language skills score extra points. Prepare your documents carefully, since a minimum score decides who reaches the interview.
