LKPU Management Consulting Scholarship

You get a monthly living allowance of 517 EUR for 12 months. Your tuition fees of 2,694 EUR per year are also covered and paid directly by the university, so you do not pay them yourself. The award comes from LKPU Consulting, an independent management consulting firm, together with the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. As a scholar, you also work with LKPU on your master thesis: they suggest concrete topics linked to their consulting work and support you with ideas, data, contacts and reviews. The amounts stated are for the 2026-2027 academic year and can change each year.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting a full-time master's programme at Maastricht University SBE.
• Field of study: You apply to one of four programmes: Business Intelligence and Smart Services, Digital Business and Economics, Econometrics and Operation Research, or International Business.
• Admission: You meet the entry requirements of the master's programme you apply to.
• Nationality: You hold German nationality.
• Financial need: You cannot fully fund your studies yourself. You show this with BAföG documents (German state student aid) or proof of a pending BAföG application.
• One application: You apply only once and for one scholarship only.

How to apply

First apply for admission to one of the four master's programmes through Studielink. Then submit the separate scholarship application with your CV, a motivation letter, a reference letter and proof of financial need. The faculty and LKPU rank the applications, invite selected candidates to an interview, and announce results at the end of July. The round for 2027-2028 reopens on 1 February 2027.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly: you must be German, show financial need, and apply to one of just four master's programmes, so the eligible pool is small. If you clearly fit those conditions and can document the need, your prospects are solid. Because there is an interview and a thesis linked to LKPU's consulting work, a genuine interest in management consulting will strengthen your case.
