About this grant / loan

ERDIS Marche care allowance for students with severe disability

You get a lump sum of 15,000 EUR for one academic year (2026/2027). The money helps you pay a qualified assistant who supports you during your degree lectures. You or your family choose the assistant, hired on a regular contract of at least 10 months between September 2026 and July 2027. ERDIS Marche, the regional student-support body, pays the grant using funds from the Italian Ministry of University and Research. You receive it in two parts: 25% after approval and 75% once you show proof of payment, enrolment and lecture attendance.

Who can apply

  • Enrolment: You are enrolled for 2026/2027 at a state or legally recognised private university, or at an AFAM institution (higher education in art, music or dance).
  • Where you study: You attend lectures in person at a campus in the Marche region of Italy.
  • Level of study: You study for a bachelor, master or single-cycle degree, or an AFAM course at first, second or five-year second level.
  • Disability: You have a severe disability that needs intensive support. In practice you receive the Italian attendance allowance (indennità di accompagnamento), are certified as non-self-sufficient, and meet at least one specific medical condition confirmed by the provincial health commission. Examples: continuous mechanical ventilation, a high spinal cord injury, severe motor impairment from a neurological or muscular disease, or combined severe loss of sight and hearing.
  • No conflicting support: You do not already receive another grant for personal study assistance in the same year, and you have no unsettled debts or open matters with ERDIS.

How to apply

You apply on the official form (Allegato 1) and send it by certified email (PEC) by 12:00 on 30 September 2026. There is no online portal and no interview. Every eligible student is considered, and if funds run short the amount is shared out proportionally.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut very narrowly. You must study in Marche and meet strict, medically certified disability conditions, so few people are eligible and there is no competitive ranking. If you clearly meet the requirements and submit a complete file by the deadline, your prospects are strong. The one caveat is funding: the total depends on money transferred by the ministry, so a very high number of applicants could reduce each share.
